Relatório de 2012

Como já é hábito, depois de publicar a lista de títulos lidos em 2012, vou fazer um apanhado do melhor e pior que li no ano que findou.
Ao contrário do ano anterior, não vou fazer uma lista do melhor por género, vou limiar-me a fazer um Top 5 dos melhores, nomear os 3 piores do Ano e mais uma ou duas categorias. Mas antes disso vamos ver se cumpri os objectivos que me tinha proposto no início de 2012:

- Ler mais sequelas Li 6 sequelas, o que já não é mau;
- Ler mais autores portugueses e lusófonos Li 10, sem contar com os de antologias, BDs e fanzines, o que significa que li menos que em 2011;
- Ler mais livros que estão na estante antes do início 2012 Este não foi cumprido. Li muitos livros comprados em 2012;
- Ler mais livros dos que me foram oferecidos/ganhei em passatempos Só li 5, mais 4 que me emprestaram durante o ano;
 - Comprar menos livros Cumprido, mas não correu como queria pois gastei muito mais dinheiro do que tinha em mente, embora ainda assim tenha decrescido desde o ano anterior.

Agora alguns números:
- Li 41 livros (6 Antologias, 26 Romances e 9 livros de Não-Ficção), mais de 40 volumes de Banda Desenhada /Manga, 64 contos e 2 fanzines;
- Li 12462 páginas de ficção e não-ficção, e mais de 6500 páginas de BD/Manga;
- Li 17 livros em português e 24 em inglês;
- Desses, 26 em formato físico, 5 em formato ebook e 10 em formato audilivro;
- O género que mais li foi Fantasia Urbana, seguido de Não Ficção, Ficção Científica e Ficção (Geral);
- A pontuação média dos livros foi 6.52, enquanto das BDs/Mangas foi 6.85 e dos contos 6.05;

1001 Livros que devemos ler antes de morrer

Antes de mais: Feliz Dia Mundial do Livro!

Hoje é um dia que qualquer amante de literatura verá com bons olhos. E como não tinha nada de especial em mente, decidi publicar uma das listas mais famosas relativas a livros: 1001 Livros que devemos ler antes de morrer.
E vou pôr a negrito os que já li e sublinhar os que pretendo ler em breve (os que já tenho em minha posse). E já agora se estiverem no Goodreads, visitem o Grupo dedicado a isto.
O facto publicar esta lista não significa que concorde com todas as escolhas (acho que deixa de fora muitas obras icónicas), mas julgo ser algo interessante para este dia. No entanto há que ver que mesmo que me dedicasse só a ler livros desta lista (e nunca dela saísse) demoraria para aí uns 20 anos a terminá-la (se lesse uma média de 52 títulos por ano).

Relatório de 2011

Com 2011 a chegar ao fim, é tempo de olhar para trás e perceber se cumpri os objectivos que nomiei no início do ano (e não só).
Então vamos à conclusão dos objectivos:
- Livros lidos: 60 (e mais dois que foram leituras parciais, por isso não contam para o total)
- Livros de autores portugueses: 13 romances (4 dos quais são antologias), 5 bandas desenhadas, 43 contos, e mais cerca de meia dúzia de autores lusófonos
- Livros lidos que tinha ganho em passatempos: 6 (faltam 12)
- Sequelas: 11 (contra 17 novas séries iniciadas O.o)
- Livros lidos que já tinha em estante antes de início de 2011: 55%
- Comprei menos cerca de 25% de livros que no ano anterior, mas em contrapartida comprei livros mais caros. Ou seja, não compensei muito (apesar de este ano ter recebido muitos livros de oferta).

Depois disto, passo a uma análise relativa aos livros lidos, no geral:
- Romances: 60 no total, contando com mais de 16500 páginas no conjunto; Destes,10 eram antologias de contos (normalmente de um só autor); 37 lidos em português e 23 em inglês; quanto ao formato: 43 papel, 15 ebooks, 2 audio-books; a média de classificações ficou-se pelos 6,7 valores; o mês em que li mais foi Janeiro (7 (+2 iniciados em Dezembro));
- Banda Desenhada: 23 no total, contando com cerca de 2900 páginas; maioria lidas em inglês; a média de classificações ficou-se pelos 7 valores; o mês em que li mais BD foi Dezembro com 5 álbuns completos.
- Contos: 103 no total, muitos fazendo parte de Antologias; maioria lidos em português, em formato papel; média de classificação ficou-se pelos 6,6 valores; o mês em que li mais histórias curtas foi Março, com 33 contos.
- Curiosidade: o livro com mais páginas que li foi "A Cidade de Vidro" de Cassandra Clare; e o com menos foi "Crónicas do novo mundo" de José Ilídio Torres.

No geral, 2011 foi um ano com leituras muitos diversas e interessantes, mas foram poucos os livros que realmente me marcaram e entraram nos meus favoritos, ainda assim há alguns que merecem ser mencionados com especial carinho.

45 Days Book Challenge

A convite do Vítor Frazão, nos últimos 45 dias fiz o 45 Days Book Challenge, que consiste em, todos os dias, nomear um livro para cada ponto seguinte. A lista completa segue abaixo:
- Dia 1 – Livro Favorito
Começo mal, porque na verdade não tenho um livro que possa chamar de meu favorito. Para simplificar, vou antes dizer qual foi o meu livro favorito do ano passado: "Sunshine", de Robin McKinley.
- Dia 2 – Livro detestado
Detestado é uma palavra tão forte, mas um que não gostei foi “Eclipse”, de Stephanie Meyer.
- Dia 3 – Livro subvalorizado
"A loja dos suicídios", de Jean Teulé.
- Dia 4 – Livro sobrevalorizado
"Memória de Elefante", de António Lobo Antunes.
- Dia 5 – Livro que levarias para uma ilha deserta
Só posso escolher um? Dos que tenho teria de ser “The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures: The Ultimate A-Z of Fantastic Beings from Myth and Magic”, de John Matthews e Caitlín Matthews, que ao menos me entreteria durante muito tempo.
- Dia 6 – Livro que leste mais vezes
Uuuuiii … eu sou pouco de repetir leituras, por isso este é difícil. Os livros da “Rua Sésamo”, e basta olhar para as lombadas para perceber o quanto eu amava a minha colecção.
- Dia 7 – Livro que te desiludiu
“Meridiano de Sangue”, de Cormac McCarthy. Depois do “A Estrada” (do mesmo autor), esperava um livro mais interessante.
- Dia 8 – Livro tão mau, tão mau, mas tão mau que consegue ser bom
Vou ter que votar num manga: “Fall in love like a comic”, de Chitose Yagami. Aquilo é do mais estúpido e cliché que há, mas eu adoro!
- Dia 9 – Livro mais longo que já leste
Bela pergunta. Deixa cá ver … “Harry Potter e a Ordem da Fénix” de J.K. Rowling, com 750 páginas, mas tenho maiores em casa (só que ainda não os li).
- Dia 10 – Livro mais curto que já leste
“O Banqueiro Anarquista”, de Fernando Pessoa, com 60 páginas.
- Dia 11 – Livro que não conseguiste acabar
Já foram vários, mas o “Marcada”, de P.C. Cast e Kristin Cast, destaca-se por eu não ter conseguido ler mais que 20 páginas.
- Dia 12 – Colecção (saga)  favorita
“Harry Potter”, J.K. Rowling
- Dia 13 – Sequela que nunca devia ter sido impressa
“Mockingjay”, de Suzanne Collins. Perdoe-me quem gostou, mas para mim o terceiro livro estragou a saga. (Claro que mesmo assim não chegou aos calcanhares do horror que foi o “Eclipse”, de Stephanie Meyer, mas não queria usar o mesmo livro no dia 3)
- Dia 14 – Livro comovente
Desta vez um outro manga. Desta feita é "Solanin", de Inio Asano, que me fez chorar rios e suja história me apaixonou.

- Dia 15 – Livro hilariante

“ O Anjo mais Estúpido“, de Christopher Moore
- Dia 16 – Livro perturbante
“Sorte”, de Alice Sebold
- Dia 17 – Livro inspirador
Assim de repente não me lembro de nenhum que me inspire profundamente na vida. Nenhum se sobressai.
- Dia 18 – Livro para o qual escreverias uma sequela
Escrever não escrevia, mas adorava ter uma sequela par “Sunshine”, de Robin McKinley. (E já escrevi uma fanfiction do “Naruto” (aliás, mais que uma), por isso também deve contar)
- Dia 19 – Livro em cujo universo habitarias

“Naruto”, de Masashi Kishimoto. Que foi? Eu sempre quis ser ninja. :P

Nenhum, que eu conheça, mas nunca se sabe não existirá algures no mundo. Agora também acho que se não existir isso é uma coisa boa, porque um livro parecido com a minha vida seria muito aborrecido. :)

Quando li o livro, revi-me bastante na Cannie do “Bons na Cama”, de Jenniffer Weiner.
- Dia 25 – Personagem literária favorita
Sirius Black, "Harry Potter" de J.K. Rowling; Rae (Sunshine) Seddon, em "Sunshine" de Robin Mckinley.
- Dia 26 – Personagem literária que gostarias de conhecer
Jenks, “Dead Witch Walking” de Kim Harrison (que, estranhamente, foi o único personagem que me interessou realmente neste livro).

Esta resposta para mim é um pouco complicada, porque raramente leio sobre personagens cujas vidas não sejam um eterno desastre. Mas acho que teria imensa graça ser a Suze por um dia (“Terra Sombria”, de Meg Cabot).

Sorcha, “A Filha da Floresta” de Juliet Marillier.
- Dia 31 – Personagem literária que nunca devia ter sido criada
Eu estava tentada a dizer que é a Bella Swan, mas depois dei-me conta que na verdade (para mim), o grande erro do livro nem é a Bella, mas sim o Edward, por isso nomeio o vampiro reluzente e stalker, para esta categoria. No entanto, fica também a nota que acabo por concordar um pouco com outras pessoas que dizem que todas as personagens têm um propósito (embora muitas vezes o leitor não perceba qual).

Não é muito ético dizer isto, mas eu sempre achei que o Chrno (“Chrno Crusade”, de Daisuke Moriyama), na sua versão adulta, era um exemplar perfeito de homem para mim (tirando a parte de ele não ser totalmente humano e tal … (E só para esclarecer, antes de haver o manga homónimo, existia já o romance/novela).

- Dia 33 – Personagem literária com a qual terias “one-night stand”
Eu diria nenhum, mas depois de pensar bem no assunto, se calhar o Bones de “Halfway to the grave“ da Jeanine Frost. :P
- Dia 34 – Personagem literária secundária que merecia um livro só dela
A Lolita, do livro “Lolita” de Vladimir Nabokov, pois embora o livro tenha o nome dela, neste ela não passa de uma personagem secundária e acessória à verdadeira história, que é do HH. E assim nunca ficamos a saber realmente o que a motivava e porque fazia o que fazia.
- Dia 35 – Personagem literária para a qual escreverias um livro
Neste momento: nenhuma (para além das minhas próprias personagens), embora já tenha escrito várias fanfictions, no passado (Naruto e Escaflowne).
- Dia 36 – Personagem literária que não quererias encontrar num beco
Por razões óbvias, não queria encontrar o violador do livro “Sorte”, de Alice Sebold (cujo nome não me recordo). Pois não há nada mais temeroso que um vilão de verdade.
- Dia 37 – Livro para os dias chuvosos
“E depois …”, de Guillaume Musso – Não me perguntem porquê, mas foi o primeiro livro que me veio à cabeça.
- Dia 38 – Livro para os dias solarengos
"O Cão Vermelho", de Louis de Bernières - Austrália? A história de um cão e as vidas que ele afectou. Uma leitura perfeita para o sol.
- Dia 39 – Livro que custou a ler
“Os Maias”, de Eça de Queirós. Tanto custou, que ainda custa (ou seja, ainda não o terminei de ler por custar tanto a ler).
- Dia 40 – Autor(a) cujo talento invejas
Terei mesmo de dizer 'nenhum', pois embora goste de vários, a verdade é que não sinto necessidade de ser como nenhum deles, ou sequer penso nisso. E agora que penso nisso, até é um pouco estranho ... Embora não me importasse de ter o dinheiro da J.K. Rowling. :)
- Dia 41 – Livro que é um “guilty pleasure”
A saga “Lords of The Underworld” da Gena Showalter. Nem eu sei porque li os três primeiros e ainda tenho vontade de ler os restantes. *sigh*
- Dia 42 – Livro que adoravas e agora detestas
Detestar mesmo, não tenho nenhum, mas dantes amava o livro “Ruby” de V.C. Andrews, e agora acho-o banal.
- Dia 43 – Livro que marcou a infância
Os seis volumes da “Enciclopédia Infantil Ilustrada”. Aquilo abriu-me portas ao conhecimento e imaginação. Já não se fazem livros como estes!
- Dia 44 – Último livro lido
"O Beijo do Highlander", da Karen Marie Moning. Não valeu o esforço. :(
- Dia 45 – Próximo livro a ler
"Fortune's Folly", de Deva Fagan.
